Busy Foodie Day 3-1-13

Phew some days you jam pack so much in.Paid employment and fun with food.
My team was indulged by a lovely Boss at morning tea time we popped around the corner to Fava Cafe,234 Centaurus Road, St Martins,Christchurch. It was so sunny and beautiful we sat outside and against my better judgement I enjoyed a GF brownie. Beautiful melt in my mouth I must say.

We are planning a work BBQ and I work with a very understanding team, I am lucky to say. It's the first one I have had since being with this team. IT was decided to keep the meat all gluten free so it's not a hassle in the BBQ.We nipped out in the lunch hour to grab some steak, chicken and GF sausages.I had taken a plastic bag some honey , GF soy sauce, fresh garlic and ginger to marinate the chunks of chicken breast over night. I am soaking the skewers and we will put together the skewers tomorrow. Also make up some zucchini, peppers and red onion skewers for the BBQ.

To make sure no contamination I have taken the balsamic vinaigrette and am making the dressing for the rice salad tonight or first thing in the morning. The potato salad is being made by team member with GF ingredients.

These occasions can give you nightmares as a Coeliac but with a bit of team work and hopefully and understanding for those around me it It can be a fun easy night.

Having some of my Whanau still not back at work I delegated the cooking duties . I left the list of what was to be cut up for Thai green curry so when I got home I could direct the cooking. Beautiful tea cooked by hubbie.
